Justin Bieber At the AMAs: Favorite Male Artist For a Second Year?

Justin Bieber brought some Holiday cheer to the 2011 American Music Awards. Sean Kingston introduced the 17-year-old singer on stage. Bieber performed his new single from his number one Holiday album Under the Mistletoe, which has a reggae sounding twist.

Even though his name has been in the headlines and he is obviously going through some stressful things, he didn't seem to let that get to him. Bieber wasn't alone at the awards either, his faithful girlfriend, Selena Gomez, was by his side as they arrived to the awards. Throughout the night, they could be seen together in the audience, enjoying the show's many performances.

Bieber wasn't at the awards only to perform, he was also nominated! He went up against Bruno Mars and Pitbull for Favorite Male Artist (Pop or Rock). Bieber won the award last year and many wondered if he would be able to pull it off for a second year in a row.

Bieber may have over 14 million Twitter followers and even more faithful 'Beliebers,' but he lost the award to Bruno Mars. Mars was gracious, though, and acknowledged both Bieber and Pitbull in his acceptance speech.

Overall, Bieber has shown that he is a strong kid and isn't letting his personal problems get in the way of his professional career.

Justin Bieber's Holiday-Themed 2011 AMAs Performance

Treating the crowd to an energetic performance, Justin Bieber rocked out at the 2011 American Music Awards in Los Angeles, California on Sunday evening (November 20).


Held at Nokia Theatre LA Live, the 17-year-old pop phenom treated the crowd to a rendition of his holiday song "Mistletoe" while later doing a dance number while joining LMFAO for their show-closing performance of "Sexy and I Know It".


Along with his performance efforts, Justin found himself nominated in the Pop/Rock Male category though he ended up losing out to Bruno Mars.


Bieber also had the pleasure of attending the 2011 AMAs with his girlfriend Selena Gomez, with the pair sharing plenty of tender moments throughout the three-hour ceremony.

Showing up for the sure-to-be-fabulous music extravaganza, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez were side-by-side at the 2011 American Music Awards in Los Angeles, California on Sunday (November 20).


With the Nokia Theatre LA Live acting as the venue, the superstar couple shared a sweet smooch as they worked their way down the red carpet and inside for the night's ceremony.
s for the show, numerous top acts are lined up for performances including Justin, as well as Chris Brown, Katy Perry, Maroon 5 with Christina Aguilera, Nicki Minaj with David Guetta, Jennifer Lopez, Kelly Clarkson and Taylor Swift, among others.


Meanwhile, Miss Gomez is among the many celebrities set to grace the stage and pass out a trophy - as she joins fellow presenters such as Joe Jonas, Matthew Morrison, Heidi Klum, Katherine Heigl, Avril Lavigne, Jane Levy and Jennifer Hudson.

This charismatic teen-idol is the youngest artist to ever win the top AMA honor. Justin invited usher to the stage, to say to Usher and the audience, “not only my mentor but my best friend and big brother”. At sixteen years old this platinum selling artist has accomplished so much in such a short time. All of his fans are going wild as Justin’s career just keeps escalating.

At Air Canada Centre in Toronto last night Justin performed for 15,000 screaming fans on his “My World” tour. He brought a girl on stage, presented her with roses and then stroked her face as he sang “One Less Lonely Girl” to her. She was ecstatic. Then to celebrate his AMA victories, Justin’s backstage family presented him with a candle lit cake. To top off this concert Justin a once aspiring hockey player got the audience chanting “Go Leafs Go” adding “Hopefully we’ll get it this year”.
